unexpectations
number one:
i honestly half-expected The Leap Years to be a total waste of money and be full of crappy pretentious cardboardy acting. BUT it was pretty good.
wong li lin was surprising.
the bestfriendsforever scenes made me cringe because 4women being mashed together and expected to giggle like schoolgirls is no fun for anyone. and no girl talks to her bestfriends like that. scriptwriter must have either been male or have never stepped into a girls' sch before.
storyline was very much a singaporean-ish love story.
it was refreshing to see a non-jack neo/royston tan film.
the esplanade rain scene that
everyone was talking about? was nothing to talk about. it was the other shots that were just really gorgeous. kudos to the cinematographer.
and yes i want to lie down on a creaky dusty gonna-turn-into-a-multi-story-carpark shophouse rooftop watching the city skyline at night at clake quay with an orlando-bloom look-alike too. (try saying that twice. betcha you can't. i can. nyaharhar.)

number two.
i knew Juno was good but i didn't know it was
that good.
Juno has an awesome script and an awesom
er soundtrack.
feel-goody indie song choices.
and i'm starting to crave for tictacs and slurpees whenever i walk past 7-eleven.
and sing Vampire by Antsy Pants whenever i see a pregnant lady.
and hold my belly like a pregnant lady on the crowded mrt so i could get seats. (okay. not really.)
definitely propelled itself to top ten of my favourite movies list.
unexpectations
number three.
it's always when i'm waiting for my next destination that it happens unexpectedly.
the badbadbad creepy stalker boy/man kind.
it's just better not to ask. you will get nightmares.
