you just might make me believe

what's your mode of transport?
mine is the sun.
when it rises dripping from
the sea when it falls like honey on
the trees when it swallows up
clouds my soul moves with it.

mine is you.
when you lift your eyes
when you look straight ahead
when you try to speak my
heart moves with you.

bop to the top
i have a newfound respect for local musicians now. i mean, not that i didn't respect them before. i only knew a very small group like The Great Spy Experiment, Electrico, and Jack & Rai. and it's not as if i go moshing every other day. plus i don't think kit chan, taufik batisah, hadi mirza, rui en, stephanie sun and tanya chua count since they've already been so (overly) exposed in the singaporean mainstream media that sometimes i think they're all the 'talent' that we already have. it's like we're being conditioned to think that singaporeans are incapable of original creative thought or something horrible like that. and then here we are trying to promote a culturally vibrant arts hub. and they should build bigger arts venues to cater to individuals who would murder for sold-out no-choice-play-in-small-venue jason mraz concerts.

oh right. i'm side-tracking. um i think Live'n Loaded is a great concept and programme for exposing local acts. for instance, from the live show aired today, i was introduced to (and loved!) the original songs Paper Feet by this duo called For This Cycle (they should pick a better name) and Crash into You by Eden State. oh and The Fa La La Song by Jack & Rai was great as usual. but i'm not too impressed by the rappers who were a bit too pretentious. and i wish they had someone other than Utt to host it. i mean he's really nice to look at and all, but he has this very un-relatable, remote, far-away, unemotional, unconnected MTV VJ style. it's too impersonal and fake-ish to my taste though i'm sure some people would beg to differ. um. a Singaporean host for starters would be nice. and with some musical street cred. which is easier said than done i know, especially since singaporean hosts are saturated with the andrea fonsenkas, en lais and gurmit singhs of the country. i mean, would it kill mediacorp to find & nurture someone fresh and new? maybe they should have a reality show to look for the best host a la American idol.

and speaking of american idol, i can't wait for hollywood week. the tears and the temper tamtrums would be so fun to watch. i know it's terrible that i seem to like to watch people suffer. but it's not like that really!! at least i think so la. haha. =\

sometimes i think i would do anything to distract myself from my readings. HAHA. gahhh.
hfdaklgfuragfdsajt- yes this is me being frustrated.
